Wow, was I impressed with this beautiful senior…Not only does she have an impressive 3.7 GPA, she also has an incredible heart, a passion for her faith, and a mature outlook on life. She will graduate from Wenatchee High School, and will actually graduate with her Associates Degree at the same time she graduates from High School, due to her work at Wenatchee Valley College. She then hopes to get into a nursing program at Northwest University or remain at Wenatchee Valley College. Her dream job is in nursing, particularly in the labor and delivery, or pediatric units. “I also have a love for mission trips, so in the future I hope to travel and use my nursing skills in different fields! I’m so excited to see where God leads me”, she adds. Beautiful both inside and out, she also had a unique perspective when I asked her to describe the meaning of true beauty, “This question definitely made me think long and hard but I’m glad it did”, she said thoughtfully, “I honestly believe that true beauty is God, because of who He is and because He is in every moment, good and bad, which can be made beautiful through him. I’ve recently been reading a book called One Thousand Gifts, and it’s about being able to give thanks, have joy, and see beauty in every moment, even if it’s the everyday, messy, ugly, busy, or stressful moments of our crazy lives. To me, God’s kindness, and continual grace are truly some of the most beautiful parts of life. True beauty means being able to see God in every moment.” Emma says she has not always been as grounded, and notes that she had to overcome a fear of what others thought of her in her high school years, adding that “as I’ve gotten older, I have realized that its so much easier to not care what others think. I’ve been blessed to have a great, supportive group of friends and family throughout high school, and I feel like I have a better understanding of who I am this year”. As she grew in that knowledge, her time at school became richer and more fun, and she says her favorite memories include football games, prom, and musicals. She requested great lighting and fun locations, and we certainly found them for her session. I love the shot of her on the bridge! Congratulations, Emma! I know you’re going to be an amazing nurse.
