Often guys ask what they should wear, or feel less-than-enthused about getting in front of the camera for their senior portraits. Caid was wonderful, and was a natural in front of the lens! He is a senior at Eastmont High School, and will be attending Western Washington University after graduation, hoping to major in Economics. He served on the ASB at his school, which he said turned out to be rather difficult, but he gained strength in the challenge. Some of his favorite things are coffee, singing, and browsing online at Amazon. His classic and sophisticated style came through clearly in every shot, and it was a real joy to meet him for his session.
For you guys, here are a few tips to getting the best senior session you can:
-Take great care of your skin and hair before your shoot. Great photos start with great skin, and you’ll feel more confident. Use a gentle cleanser and pat dry before bed to get all the oils settled down and prevent breakouts. Stay out of direct sunlight unless you have lots of sunscreen on, and watch for sunglass lines!
-Iron! Most guys opt for button downs or similar type shirts. Please steam or iron them to make sure there are not giant wrinkles in your photos. Hanging your outfits up while you transport them in the car is a great idea, or bring along a handheld steamer.
-Remember at least one ‘classic’ look will serve you well. A great solid color button down or a solid color blazer can be a great photo for your LinkedIn profile, yearbook, or college applications (Caid’s navy blue shirt is a great example). Even if you live in tees and shorts, a good, polished shot will serve you well.
